That is it for now

I am going to let this blog rest.....don't really have much to say and I think that I only have 1 person reading it, which I chat with on a regular basis! Maybe more to be posted after Michael starts school!

Just a post

Hi! Not a whole lot to write. I am really getting out of the habit. Very few people read it, so why do it! All is well. Michael and I had a great time in Michigan. We enjoyed our time visiting with family and friends. It is always hard to come back. We still hope to be living back in Michigan one day.

Here is a picture of Michael on Papa's boat!

Happy Birthday!

Happy 5th Birthday Michael! We love you! Here are some newborn pics...just because Mommy wants to see them and post them. If I would have thought about it sooner I would have posted at least 1 pic from each year....maybe later. I have loved every bit of the last 5 years, but I really do miss the newborn baby stage! Finally there is a picture of Michael on his 5th birthday eating a yummy cupcake for breakfast!!! The first picture Michael is just a few minutes old, in the second it is not long after I saw him for the first time, the 3rd is going home from the hospital, the 4th his birth announcement pic, and the last is him enjoying a birthday breakfast of champions!

Fun Bummer

Well, Saturday June 13 we were supposed to go see the space shuttle take off. We can usually see it from our front yard, although we are about 2 hours from the space center. The take off was supposed to be at 7:17 AM. Now this meant that we had to leave our house VERY early. I went to bed around 11:00...after the disappointing Red Wings game. When I went to bed, the take off was still scheduled and we were planning on going to see it. We have seen it once before in Titusville and it was awesome! Mike got up at 3:30 and I got up at 3:45. I was lucky if I got 4 hours of sleep. We packed a cooler, fishing poles, and Michael's beach stuff. We got Michael up at 4:30 so he could get ready for the long ride. He was tired, but very excited. We got into the Titusville area when Mike called his buddy from MI who now lives in Titusville and was going to meet us at the park. It was at that time, (6:20 am, less then an hour before the lift off) that we found out that the take off had been postponed due to a hydrogen leak. HUGE bummer...especially since we got up so early and drove so far. Michael was awake until 6...he napped from 6-6:30. We dreaded telling him we would not see the shuttle. He was disappointed, but Daddy quickly turned Michael's attention to fishing.
We went to the park we had planned on and it is right on the river. We did a little fishing...I helped Michael and Mike fished. Michael did catch one small fish and he was very excited. He quickly became disappointed though when he was not catching anything else. He really wants to catch a fish that he can take home and eat. We did see a jellyfish that he wanted to catch, it was just floating by the rocks. Mike and I also saw a manitee and the woman next to us caught a puffer fish, but it did not puff out for us.
We also went to New Smyrna Beach for a little bit so Michael could play in the sand and water.
Anyway, here are a few pictures. We are hoping to see the shuttle take off sometime this week...although maybe just from our front yard. Next time we drive to go see it I WILL check the internet before we leave!

Just an update

Michael got a new sprinkler that he really enjoyed playing with! The water was a little cold, but he had fun!
Our Memorial Day weekend was uneventful. We had a nice relaxing weekend. We spent time together relaxing as a family and we also got some stuff done around the house.
Friday May 29 is Michael's graduation day! I will post more photos after that.
